I just want some butter!

Then I was at the supermarket, just trying to find some products, thinking about nothing in special. And suddenly there was this man with poor appearance and some teeth missing looking at me.

“I want some butter, is this butter?” he asked with a little rudeness in his voice, showing me something in his hand. A little box labeled “CREAM” in very large uppercase letters.

He didn’t appear to be a threat for me. “No my friend, this is cream.”

“No! Butter! I just want some butter”, he shouted with anger in his face, opening wide his arms and turning his eyes to the roof as begging to the Lord for not being misunderstood.

“Butter!!!”

I scanned the aisle and talking nothing pointed my finger to where he could find all the butter we wanted. He walked slowly to there, suspiciously staring at me, as a bad shooter in a bad western movie. A couple of steps and he stopped.

“Oh, there’s margarine,” and a child’s smile for a moment enlightened his face. And he bent and got a tub.

Now with a more gentle voice and still smiling, he turned to me again: “Do you know where the tomato sauce is?”

“It’s in the aisle of pasta.”

Now friendly he waved his hand: “Oh, thank you very much! Have a good night!”

And it was how harmony has been restored to the milky aisle. And I stood there for a moment wondering that maybe it had happened something I hadn’t really understood.
