Specific hungers
I’ve noticed one interesting thing: despite of all warnings sometimes we want to eat trash food. Yesterday night for instance I was in the supermarket and suddenly craved a whole frozen pizza. I really don’t know why this happen, maybe an unexpected absence of the most important nutrients let your body out of its mind. But what I needed then was some real food.
Then instead of buying a pizza I bought food for making a good Brazilian virado - rice and beans, meat, sausages, fried bananas, fried minced cabbage, eggs and so on – a good dish to make when you’re hungry, because you can fill up your supermarket cart with everything you can put your hands on. It worked out.
I've also noticed different hungers caused by physical or intellectual activities. After my jiu-jitsu training when adrenaline goes down I feel a sudden hunger burning my stomach and making food look more attractive. But when I stay all day long on PC, working or studying, hunger is different. Little by little I feel more and more tired, with a sad feeling, no interest in food at all.
Now I know it, in these situations I try to eat something and then I have my energy going up. So guys, if you feel sad or wanting to eat something strange, try some rich and attractive traditional dish and see what happens then. Look, maybe I've found the reason why so many people is depressed nowadays and a remedy for this. Of course we must go to the gym later to burn all that calories, but physical activity also releases endorphins in our body, making us even happier. Two birds with one stone. Voilá.
