White diet

I came to know that people undergoing some teeth whitening treatments are recommended not to eat any kind of food with strong colors like coffee, shoyu or M&Ms. Of course all this knowledge had whetted my well-known appetite for solving problems so I eagerly started to list the white food I knew. Milk-derived products are obvious answers – white bread, white cheese, yogurt and cream cheese– but for a quick bite only. How could we prepare a complete dinner with white food only?

The hard side of this is that every cook always tries in their recipes to compose colors in a pleasant way since it is a known fact that we also eat with our eyes, i.e. visual presentation is an important part of any dish. After some planning I finally went to action combining my proven recipe digging technique with my renowned pioneering spirit and undaunted courage to make an all-white meal. Steamed fish with no pepper of any kind. Hearts of palm cream from my hearts of palm cake recipe. White rice. A complete meal without any colored ingredient. Got it.

As a result, separately the fish was very good, the hearts of palm cream was very good and the rice was near perfect. But I have to admit that after the lunch a feeling of emptiness remained. Unintentionally I’ve confirmed in a practical mouth-in experience the importance of the colors in food. While not satisfied with the dinner, I leave it here as a hint for those people undergoing teeth whitening treatments, anyway – with a note of caution: since I am not a food expert it is highly recommended to check this combination of foods with your nutritionist. Good luck!
